Prioritized Vocabulary Lists

We have assembled several prioritized word lists to help you study for the GRE and SAT efficiently. Our first list is a word roots list which teaches nearly 400 word roots that will increase your chances with new words.

We then have three lists of increasing size which have the most common words on the GRE and SAT. The last list is a massive 4,500+ word lists which we challenge you to finish. Be the first! This massive list is equivalent to the 'big' books out there.

Word Roots

Our large list of word roots is approached from two directions- root to definition and definition to the root. This list is the most effective way to increase your vocabulary score in the shortest time, hands down. Our members report triple digit verbal score improvements in less than a week! How? Most high level words are made of Latin and Greek word roots.

We also show words containing the word roots to help you see it in use.

Progress Tracking

Track your progress through the word lists while taking the quizzes and detailed plots of your progress in the 'My Progress' section.

In-Depth Vocabulary

One of our most exciting features is the many ways with which we approach words. When you are learning words (vs. roots) you will have to recognize the correct definition, find the phrase that correctly uses the word, find the word to complete the sentence, and of course find the word by definition. To enhance your test taking ability we also mix the answers with those using synonyms and antonyms, a technique used on the SAT and GRE to trip you up. We also test you on each definition of a word, not just 'the one'. All too often a second meaning of a common word trips up even the most advanced users. As with the roots we also list the synonyms and antonyms along with all of the definitions for a word.

Adaptive Algorithm

Perhaps the most powerful feature of our site is the algorithm behind it. We won't go into too much detail about it, but it has some great properties:
- It knows the words you know through statistical confidence levels.
- It maintains short term and long term word lists to attack both long and short term memory.

Feedback

Like anything our software is evolving and getting ever more powerful. Since we are service versus a retail application you get the upgrades free as they are rolled out! Do you want a feature or think something can be changed? Let us know and we will be more than happy to work with you. When you join the site you are dealing directly with the software developers, we did not outsource, contract or buy our software. We know every bit of it through and through.
